Raids cockfight gambling, bookies panic and jump into the gutter
   
               
 

           Kelapa Gading Police raided a gambling cockfighting arena in Kampung Rawa Sengon RT 07 RW 22, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. The result is 12 gamblers arrested cockfighting.

Kelapa Gading police chief Pol Sutriyono said the raid came from the information residents are restless with the rise of the chicken gambling.

           Sutriyono explained that the raid was conducted on Thursday (4/12) at around 13:00 pm. When the audience and bookies were busy complaining rooster, when the police arrived the atmosphere changed into a panic and scatter run and jump into the water channel near the location.

The police who had surrounded the location made them helpless, then they are transported using patrol cars and motorcycles to Mapolsek Kelapa Gading.

     "Their activity has been running for three days. The location made organizers like cockfighting arena, cemented floor, there is a spectator and a roof for shelter. Arena where cockfighting was our direct unloading. The location was no man's land, so they are free to do activities," said Sutriyono in Jakarta, Thursday (4/12).

Further Sutriyono, out of 12 people arrested, only three people who had been named as a suspect.

      "Three people who had been named as a suspect is Adhar Seno aka Babe (49) which served as organizer, Bahrudin aka Deo (46) as executor and Suharsono (50) as a referee," he said.

While 9 other people at the time of the raid they were watching and still under investigation.

           Sutriyono explained, in a day rooster fight as much as 5-6 times. Every once in a match, the organizers can be allotted Rp 300 thousand, executive Rp 50 thousand and Rp 25 thousands referee.

     "Once a bet on average put Rp 1 millions. Most players are residents of Kampung Sengon, Kelapa Gading," said Sutriyono.

           Last year, police also been conducting raids on the same location. "We will continue to monitor these sites and other locations. So do not try to open a gambling game in our region. I will do affirmative action and process in accordance with applicable laws," said Sutriyono.

The three suspects threatened Article 303 regarding gambling and exposed imprisonment over 5 years in prison.

           Of the raid, police Kelapa Gading secure evidence in the form of 10 chickens rooster, chicken cage 2, 2 clocks, and cash amounting to Rp 2.3 million.
