  Textile Museum Holds Festival Songket Sumatra

                    
         Medan, North Sumatra. As a form of appreciation for Songket Sumatra as traditional fabrics of Indonesia, Jakarta Textile Museum organized a festival Songket Sumatra, which lasted from December 17, 2014 until December 21, 2014. One part of this series of events is the exhibition Songket Sumatra.
              
 

Sumatran songket collection displayed at the exhibition is a collection of the Sultanate Langkat, Sultanate of Deli Serdang Sultanate, the Sultanate shavings, Museum of North Sumatra province, Jakarta Textile Museum and the collectors in Lampung and Jakarta, as well as development proceeds songket Cita Indonesian Weaving (CTI) increasingly enrich songket Indonesia.
             

      
  
       Inaugurated by Gatot Pujo Nugroho as the Governor of North Sumatra on Wednesday night (12/17/2014), the opening of the exhibition is enlivened with Serampang twelve dance and fashion show designer APPMI members Medan, Oki Wong, who took inspiration songket Batu Bara in his work.
 
               
 

As quoted from the press release received on Friday (12/19/2014), this exhibition is expected to increase your appreciation of the community towards the development of a closer relationship  songket and Textile Museum Jakarta to the heart of the community as a cultural educational institutions.

 
                                 
                  

       The exhibition opened on Tuesday - Sunday (Mondays and national holidays closed) at 09.00-1500 pm. In addition to the exhibition fabrics, Festival The Journey of Songket is also filled with Talk Wastra that one of his sources is the Okke Hatta Rajasa of Cita Indonesian Weaving, and workshops Songket Sumatra, and Culture & Music Workshop.
