Steal fish, 2-flagged ships of Papua New Guinea sunk by military
Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) sank back foreigners in Indonesian waters. Two Papua New Guinea flagged ships namely KM Century 4 / PNG-051 and KM Century 7 / PNG-069.
When arrested, the two foreign ships was carrying 72 crew nationality Thailand and Cambodia as well as the seven Indonesian citizen. Both ships were caught in the waters of Indonesia on Sunday (7/12) in the waters around the Maluku as guilty of the offense of fishing in Indonesian territory without permission or do not have a document issued by the government of Indonesia.
Sinking of the two ships led Fleet Commander of the Eastern Region Vice Admiral TNI Arie Henriycus Sembiring Meliala accompanied Danguspurlatim, Danlantamal IX Ambon, Wakapuspen TNI, Kadispenal, Attorney Maluku, Danrem 151 Binaya and Dirpolair Ambon Maluku Police waters, Sunday (21/12 ) around 10:00 am local time.
Admiral TNI Arie Henriycus Meliala Sembiring said, sinking of two ships are decisive action taken by the government of Indonesia to maintain the maritime sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia. Sinking of the two ships was also carried out by the determination of Ambon District Court number 01 / Pid.Prkn / 2014 / PN.Ambon dated December 18, 2014.
"The action to sink two ships is carried out to confirm that the Government of Indonesia firmly and not playing games against foreign ships that steal fish illegally in Indonesian waters," said Pangarmatim, in a press release sent military information center.
Currently, only two ships in Maluku fish thieves who drowned while a number of other ships captured still in the process of law.
"The other ships were also arrested today are still in the process of law," said Admiral TNI Arie.
Two ships weighing 200 GT and 250 GT is captured Navy along with six other ships while stealing fish in the Arafura sea three weeks ago. Sinking of the fishing ships in line with government policy to act firmly against ships fish thieves.
For soldiers, the command to shoot and sink the foreign boats operating illegally in Indonesian national jurisdiction, not merely for the sake of saving the country's wealth and a criminal offense, but already the abuse of state sovereignty. Anyone who violates or harassing-Indonesian national law shall be dealt with firmly, in order to provide a deterrent to foreign fishing vessels others who intend to enter the territorial waters of Indonesia to commit the crime of illegal fishing.
