       Amnesty International condemned the death penalty, Jokowi remain cool
 

                Jakarta. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) chuckled when he heard the insistence of the Council of Amnesty International who asked him to stop the execution of those sentenced to death. He asserted, the execution must be implemented according to a court order.

        "It was a positive law in Indonesia, and it was decided by the court. Yes everything must appreciate that every country that has its own rules," said Jokowi while chuckled over a teleconference held at Bina Graha, Jakarta, Monday (8/12).

Jokowi reiterated, executions will go ahead, despite opposition human rights activists. "The answer was (go ahead)," he said simply.

                 Regarding the execution letter, Jokowi promised immediately signed the Global Compact. "If it will be me to say," he concluded.

Previously, the Board of Amnesty International criticized the policies of President Joko Widodo to execute five prisoners who plan would be carried out later this year. The statement, delivered the agency said on its website on amnesty.org.

                 The criticism is out of this institution considering Jokowi campaign that continues to promote the increase of Human Rights (HAM). Meanwhile, to execute its policy is contrary to human rights.

        "The Indonesian government must stop the plan as soon as possible. President Joko Widodo in the campaign is committed to improving human rights (human rights), and the death penalty is a serious matter in the human rights record," said Director of Research International Forgiveness for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Rupert Abbott, Saturday (6/12).
