Tulangbawang- DHO Tulangbawang- Lampung province lamented lack of public awareness of the importance of handling midwife or medical personnel in the delivery process.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Heri Novrizal Tulangbawang said, the birth process is not handled directly by a midwife or medical personnel can be fatal for the baby.
This was evidenced by the presence of a baby who died of tetanus neonatorum.
"This is due to the handling of unsafe childbirth and sterile because it is not handled by the expert midwife or medical personnel," said Heri.
Cases of neonatal tetanus disease is experienced by the baby of a couple Dodo and Arum residents of Kampung Tri Darma, Banjar District Court, District Tulangbawang who died on Tuesday (11/18/2014).
Head of Puskesmas Penawar Jaya Farina said the baby was born in the hands of the shaman, while neonatal tetanus disease. Previous Dodo had declined the offer to be brought to the clinic doctor.
