Indonesian human rights offender

          

            Indonesia is considered as a country that upholds freedom of expression and religion. However, lately, this amnesty international calls have occurred criminalization of confidence in Indonesia.

             Research Director of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Amnesty International, Rupert Abbott said the number punishment of blasphemy increased over the past few decades.
                                         

               

             "In our report blasphemy law in Indonesia to challenge the law and standards of international law," said
Rupper during a press conference on "Blasphemy and human rights agenda input For new government Jokowi-JK" at Aryaduta, Menteng, Jakarta, Friday (11/21/2014).

                                         

             

            Amnesty International said that they had documented more than 100 people were jailed on 39 cases. Rupert said the detention of these people express their beliefs are based on the attitude of each.

 
         

     "At least there are still nine are still in prison and they are all prisoners of conscience. We asked them to be released unconditionally," said Rupert.

 

                           
            Amnesty International hopes the new government Joko Widodo protect minorities. This is consistent with the commitment of Indonesia as a country of law.
